For Khador!

Finished these up for a local commission. They are part of a larger force that will get basically the same paint treatment. I tried a few different battle damaging techniques on these guys, perhaps some of you have seen the salt and spray. Well, I tried it and I'm still a bit iffy on it. I really thought the process would be easier, but I had a hell of a time getting the wet rock salt to stick to the figs, maybe there is a better way to do it but I couldnt figure it out. So, they are not quite as beat up as I would like but all in all I like how they turned out.

I do believe that once I get back to painting my own Khador again, my Demo Corps will get this same (or very nearly) paintjob.

Paint preference.

So, the other day I was over at a buddies house, gaming, painting and just hangin out, and I started to talk to him about his SPECTACULAR paint jobs. He is one of those guys that just seems to grasp it naturally.

The reason I tell you this is that he does most of these wonderful paintjobs with a large selection of Delta Ceramacoat paints. This may kind of blow your mind (did mine)so, I decided I am going to give it a go. I was told  to steer clear of most of the reds and yellows but the earthy tones along with the greens and blues would be as good if not better than all the pricey hobby paints.
I have a pretty good selection of most of the popular hobby brands, including Citadel, Vallejo, P3 and RMS.
Over the next month I will start incorporating the Deltas into my painting and report back on what I think of them overall. It honestly wouldnt be too bad to be able to buy 3 times as much paint for 1/3 the price as the hobby brands.  So, here goes.

Nilarakh the evil doer

Finished up this incarnate for my middies the other day. He is the leader from the Warriors of the Abyss box set. He was really a lot of fun to paint, too bad he looks straight at the ground. In hindsight I probably should have put him on an angled piece of rock or something similar so he could be easier seen, but his feet are so tiny I was mighty afraid I would snap his ankles if I tried to tear him out of his base. Ah well, live and learn
I think I'll start work on the older Mid-Nor Organist next.

Strike from the trees!

Well, unfortunately I am having to post from borrowed computers but I do have a few pics to share. I have had the Reeves leader done for a while now and just sat down the other day and cranked out the rest of the unit box. I am really happy with how they turned out, and I plan to add another 4 to the unit shortly.
I also had a few requests after I posted the Shaman and Extoller to snap a pic of my Skorne force.
