Paint preference part 2

Well, it has been a bit longer than a month but, as promised I have started trying to use the Delta Ceramacoat paints in my daily painting routine.
I didnt get quite as many different shades to try out as I would have liked but I did get around a dozen or so.
I have mixed feelings about them but, they are mostly good. I dont think I will ever be using them for basecoating models, as the pigment ratio still isn't as high as the upper end game paints, they do however work very well for adding highlights to basecoat colors, and they make great washes! The best part(in my mind) is the array of colors, there are dozens to choose from and tons of different shades for each one.

So, after all is said and done, I will definitely be selectively adding them to my collection. It will just have to be hit or miss on the colors, for now, as I said before , I am just going to stick with the earthy, natural tones.

WIP Flames of War board.

Well, unfortunately this is still very work in progress. I have been trying to find some suitable carpet to represent decent wheat fields for a while now, otherwise it would probably be complete. It seems like I used to see the right stuff all over the place, but now that I need it I of course cant find any thing.
There aren't any trees on it simply because I am planning on making all of them removable for gameplay. The white corner will eventually hold a church and graveyard in it..............hopefully, I may just take the easy route and fill it with more crop rows, only time shall tell.
And then the buildings that shall grace the board.
I was really a bit disappointed when I received them, they seem to be out of scale from each other. The farm houses look twice the size of the two story houses. Ah well though, I guess I just wont clump them close together during gameplay.

Oaths kept.

Well, here a few more proper pics of my entry for the league contest. He was a lot of fun to paint. This fig has an amazing amount of detail and character. You know a fig is great if you find yourself thinking of battles and background stories while you paint them. I do plan to revisit the runes in the wood to make them more glowey looking at some point, I was just a tad too rushed to do it correctly with the deadline and all.

I am actually most pleased with the tree bark. At first thought I was just going to paint it a deep brown color..............trees are brown right? :) The other day my work just so happened to take me high up onto the mountainside and as I was looking around, it dawned on me that the Oak trees were most definitely an ashy  Gray color, hence my choice for the tree.

Thundercliff peaks Painting competition

Well, our local WarmaHordes league officially ended this last Thursday, and we finished things off with a paint contest from those who played league games. It was really nice to see turn out for the competition and I hope they get bigger and more competitive each time.

The pics I was able to snag of each piece basically kinda suck but you ought to get the idea anyway.  Two of my good gamer buddies took First and second with  Moshar and Skaldi Respectively, and I snuck into third with Cassius. Hopefully I can snap some better quality photos of him in a day or so.

Shown in no particular order.
